In 2017, Grupo Lamfer decided to implement SAP S/4HANA as an Enterprise Resource Planning System, aiming to improve and increase the efficiency of its processes, and to help meet its strategic objectives.

Grupo Lamfer’s SAP systems were hosted on a private cloud platform with a three-year contract. When this was about to expire, Lamfer considered trying new alternatives that would allow the company to optimize costs without neglecting its operating model and built-in support.

By putting its trust in Techedge and in the benefits of the AWS cloud, Grupo Lamfer was able to speed up its migration process, allowing it to benefit from full services where scalability and savings would allow it to optimize its infrastructure with a fast, flexible, and secure solution.

As a result, Grupo Lamfer not only brought its systems to the cloud, but is now also able to access the platform’s management and sustainability services, as well as those of its internal apps, within a best-practice framework offered by Techedge.

Grupo Lamfer is a Guatemalan pharmaceutical corporation with over 27 years’ experience in both the national and Central American markets. With its facilities located in Guatemala, the Lamfer plant covers over 25,000 m² of buildings, designed to meet the requirements of the WHO Good Manufacturing Practices Report 32-92.

It is considered to be one of the first pharmaceutical laboratories to have modern production equipment that allows a range of pharmaceutical forms to be manufactured, including injectables, tablets and capsules, oral suspension powders, liquids, creams, ointments and soft jelly, with an annual production of up to 700 million units backed up by a quality-assuring modern laboratory.

Grupo Lamfer has over 1,000 members working for the group’s various subsidiaries, including Laboratorios Lamfer, Selectpharma, Med Pharma and Leven, Korel Plast and Korel Print.
