In the digital ecosystem, everything is data. Data are everywhere. Data provide us information about our business, our world, and today - even our home. Yet, information alone is not substantial in supporting our decision making capabilities. We must connect that information to create valuable insight for more informed, real-time decision making.
Because data are all around us, there has never been an easier time to collect data. Contrastingly, the sheer volume of data presents a different problem: what data do I need to consider for my advanced business planning and analytics?
With the rise of Big Data and IoT, many are scratching their heads to understand just that. Data are presenting opportunities to disrupt core business analytic and planning functions as we know them, and opening opportunities for newer, more advanced and intelligent performance planning & predictive analytics.
